In-home bars, pub rooms and libation stations

Very nicely done. Do the friends ever contribute to the inventory?" Jan 20, 10 1:14 PM

I guess this answers my question...

“Likewise for Bill Sagal of Amagansett, who said that building and maintaining a bar is like any other luxury investment made in a home. “Some people spend money on a boat, we did a bar instead,”

Tuckahoe school considers new superintendent and expanded board

I think if the Board had shared some of the issues as to why they were reluctant to renew Ms. Rozzi's contract it would have promoted a feeling of goodwill in the community. However, they did not and it is probably safe to say, that hopefully they have learned from this. I bellieve each of the board members truly believes they have the best interest of the community at heart. We are all a work in progress. Let's try to find a way to be good citizens and be good role-models for our children. Principals above personalities. Perhaps Interestedtaxpayer has the right idea." Jan 20, 10 1:40 PM

Cigar Bar has liquor license suspended because of violence

I doubt for a second that the Cigar Bar allows violence as the SLA has suggested. What does a small establishment have to do, hire body guards at the door and use all the profits to pay them? Why bother being open." Jan 26, 10 12:17 PM

Turmoil continues in Tuckahoe; commissioner will decide fate of school board

Look, nothing will get resolved as long as everybody refers to each stance as belonging to an "ilk." I think both sides of the argument have merit. Many believe the Board should have been more forthcoming with the areas they felt Liinda was not overseeing properly. I think people are confusing her personally with how she did her job. From a parents perspective she was most gracious and highly professional. However, [as would seem the case, when you are on the Board you will see things from a closer perspective. I think this questioning the Board on every decision has taken their focus off of doing good things for the school and taken the focus off of their job. This seems to happen in government all the time. I think it's probably a great idea to expand the board to a USFD, but in the meantime, let them do their jobs. I think the Board could be more diplomatic and show that they are willing to understand both sides. However, this page of comments has some really good points, but once we start talking about religion and belonging to "ilks" it just makes any valid point lose it's value. I hope things will work out soon for the best interest of the students and school community. " Feb 12, 10 2:06 PM

Tuckahoe parent drops board overhaul effort

Grisnik is right. it should go to a ballot. Let the Board focus on what they need to do in the best interest of the school community and stop shifting the focus to defending their every move. However, please BOARD when you make decisions that affect the whole community please discuss openly why you are making these decisions (Ie: not renewing contracts, etc...). We the taxpayers and parents are entitled to know. We elected you and deserve this from you. This whole controversy could have been avoided had you been more open with us. Both sides have valid points. You have the right to make your decisions as you feel is in the best interest of the school, but you also are responsible for keeping the school community at large in the loop. " Feb 13, 10 9:22 AM

Thank you for your explaination. I think many folks in the district who are opposed to what has happened, feel as though their hands have been tied and not known who could answer any questions. I can understand if there are more serious allegations that the Board has tried to protect Mrs. Rozzi,by not sharing. I for one, would not know who the school's legal counsel is that represents us. Where would someone find that out? I also thnk some of the mistrust comes because the Board is being in full agreement with eachother." Feb 13, 10 3:22 PM

i meant, I think some of the mistrust comes because the Board IS NOT in full agreement with eachtoher. " Feb 13, 10 3:27 PM

Levy is a fiscal conservative and will get Repub votes by this move. There is nothing wrong with that. His interest is doing a good job for the people (Dems/Indep/and Repubs.) . End of story.

Police cite 21 on drug charges at Neptune Beach Club over holiday weekend

There has been drug use going on in clubs forever. There are those who are buying them and those who are not. Most are there to have fun, dance, meet people, etc... This area has become so anti - fun and ruining any outlets for it because of a few jerks. Get over it!" Jun 3, 10 11:51 AM

This area is getting pathetic and who needs another KK. They are the pits. We do need another supermarket in SH, but not on the outskirts of the village in a residential area. Stop cowtowing to these developers...enough is enough." Jun 11, 10 6:19 PM

Tuckahoe superintendent to leave; School Board interviews finalists for position

Ya know if you really cared about the kids you would get off this tirade of yours. The past is over, move forward. The kids are not sitting and sulking because Mr. McCarthy is leaving. He did a terrific job and yes it's unfortunate he's leaving at short notice, but tha'ts the way it is. Stop negating the board and your bull about the poor kids. You're just showing your misdirected anger. You must have more problems than you realize. " Jul 2, 10 11:12 AM

MIne is getting a great education too, My concern is with my kids, not the school report card and it never will be. If someone's kid is doing poorly get them help, but this insistence that it's the school fault is just another form of scapegoating. Are these complainers living in the real world. Maybe they should take a drive to some impoverished communities here on LI, or the innercity public schools. " Jul 2, 10 11:20 AM

You need help. You're making up lies that are just baseless. This is just a speck of time in a limiless universe. If your kids are suffering because of test scores at Tuckahoe -prek-8, I feel awfully sorry for what lies ahead for them. Life is not meant to be micromanaged. " Jul 2, 10 11:26 AM
