Teen Night At East Hampton Nightclub Called Exploitive

Some people actually care what their kids do.

Allowing them to run amok in a girls gone wild atmosphere needs to come top an end.

Your thoughtless comments aren't appreciated by the way." Nov 9, 11 2:57 PM

The problem here is that this is a night club without any proper form of adult supervision.

While it is true that young male bouncers are on the premises to prevent altercations, in no way do they deter the atmosphere of 'girls and boys gone wild'. The owner of this establishment knowingly exploits our children's desire to go out and 'have fun'. And he does so without the slightest concern that the
attendees are behaving in very inappropriate ways.

While Mr. Cilione may have the right to run a business, he should in no
way enjoy the privilege to essentially allow an atmosphere which is akin
to Spring Break.

It's time for parents to become aware. A regularly scheduled teen night at the high school would be a welcome option to this cess pool. Many parents, or coaches, or off-duty police officers would welcome the opportunity to volunteer and serve the most impressionable people of our community. Our kids.

Suspect In Fatal Water Mill Hit-and-Run Remains Elusive; Cops Reveal Where Car Was Found

How long did it take for Mr. Zaro to decide to call the police after he was notified of the crash? Any delay that occurred surely resulted in life and death. They could have had EMT's on the scene and possible stabilized her condition. But then he would have had to admit that the driver worked for him and thereby bear the liabilty of an unlicensed driver on his policy.

Interesting in a NY Post article how the driver was dismissed as just a migrant "landscaper" who had no permission to drive any of the family vehicles. The cops should get a search warrant to look for all of his belongings to prove that he lived in the mansion, but no doubt everything has been removed. Nice cover up.

Cyclist Airlifted To Stony Brook University Hospital After Crashing Into Pole On Dune Road

Any falls from a motorcycle or bicycle req" Jul 30, 13 9:22 AM

Any falls from a motorcycle or bicycle require a medivac.

Southampton hospital does not have a trauma team and therefore patients who may have internal bleeding have to be airlifted where they can be treated immediately.

Motor vehicles accidents and falls from a height of greater than eight feet get an automatic ride in the helicopter as well." Jul 30, 13 9:25 AM

Six-Year-Old Girl Hit By Car In Water Mill Dies At Hospital

Medivac can take over twenty minutes at times. Taking the child for immediate care was ultimately the best plan of action. While emergency personnel are fully capable of stabilizing a patient, in no way can they perform the critical care which only an ER can provide.

Granted SH has no trauma team, but they had the potential to do far more than emergency volunteers who are doing their best while waiting for a Medivac.

How sad this is especially on a Fathers Day weekend. God bless this family and comfort them during this heart wrenching time. " Jun 16, 14 9:19 PM

Sagaponack Village Gets An Earful On Saturday Construction Noise

The only ones against the ban are the ones who want their houses finished for next summer! afterwards they'll be all to quick to hop on the band wagon. Hypo racy at its best.

All the whiners had a chance to build their houses and all of a sudden they become agitated when a neighbor tries to do the same.

A leaf blower ban is what they should be arguing over...but that's another story. " Jun 17, 14 7:06 AM

Police: Scott Disick Had $4,000 Cash Stolen From Briefcase In Kardashian Home

Bonackers are from East Hampton. Mr. Diksick is from the hamlet of Eastport.

He is not a bonacker. Heavens to Betsy how insulting. :) " Jul 24, 14 8:10 PM

Police Looking For Man Who Stole Handbag From Southampton Village Store

Darn it. Having his picture posted makes this caper all too easy to solve. It takes all the difficulty out of civilian detective work.

On that note, It's interesting that handbag theft is apparently a much more serious offense than home invasions and vehicular manslaughter. This person needs to be brought to justice pronto. " Sep 22, 14 8:35 PM

UPDATE: Man Arraigned On Felony Charge After Springs Shooting Incident

At least it's reassuring that our local police have the capability of handling incidents of this nature.

They are not militarized, just equally matched and well prepared to deal with the kind of maniacs who show up at Batman premieres and take aim at innocent movie goers. Not saying that this arrest was anything like that whatsoever, but stuff like this happens completely out of the blue and without any warning.

Dealing with the occasional town drunk and giving out traffic violations were the nature of the job in the good old days. Our peace officers shouldn't need to be wearing body armor is right, but it's not like Mayberry anymore in quaint little towns across parts of our nation. And that's a shame.

Southampton Village Approves Moratorium On Houses Taller Than 35 Feet

If the project has not been reviewed by the architectural review board prior to this going into effect, then it's very likely that they cannot review the file at the upcoming hearing ....even though it had been marked received and was placed on their agenda.

Moratoriums essentially mean stop everything. " Oct 11, 14 11:05 PM

UPDATE: Cleaning At Southampton After Enterovirus Diagnosis Underway

True. As harsh as it sounds to pin point this on people from other parts of the hemisphere, many of them are going to shy away from mandatory vaccines for fear of their immigrant status and what might become of them.

This is a serious issue and without proper care it is very plausible that a disease could be spread due to lack of proper monitoring or containment.

Without digressing to much on this poor child's case, what on earth is our government doing in stopping the entry of people from West Africa? Nothing. Agreed on watching out for the blue people assuming you meant politically correct democrats who don't want to hurt anyone's feeling by closing the borders. " Oct 14, 14 9:17 PM

Southampton Town Supervisor Gets Real Estate License

ATH will make an excellent salesperson with her extensive background in community affairs and politics and zoning related matters. It's not news, that's very true. In fact, it's a really silly article. But why bash her for moving on with her life? Everyone has to make a living.

Agreed on the comments that it's in conflict with her current role in politics. You can't serve the community while potentially playing on the other side of the fence. At least she will not be doing it while still in office. That would be terrible form and the public outcry would be pretty extreme to say the least!!" Oct 18, 14 5:35 PM

Felony Drug Charges Leveled Against Sag Harbor Man

Kids are dying from this poison that wayward young men like this fellow are peddling for profit.

Unbeknownst to many people in our idyllic communities, heroine use is widespread. So called normal looking teens in almost every town in both Suffolk and Nassau are harboring deep dark secret. Hopefully the judge will see past the hometown football hero shield that he'll hide behind.

This kid needs to be taken off the streets for a while. Thankfully he self incriminated his behavior at the time of his booking. What a helpful thing to do. " Oct 25, 14 7:56 AM

CVS Caremark Files Lawsuit Against Southampton Town Planning Board

Any store popping up on that corner is going to rile the community. At least it's not another restaurant or antique shop.

Hopefully it will be covered in shingles and harmonize with the historical look and feel of the hamlet. Thats not very likely though.

The one is East Hampton is at least somewhat discreet in its presence. Ideally this thing should have been placed at the Bridgehampton commons. Wishful thinking. " Nov 16, 14 8:56 PM

Bridgehampton Resident Purchases Pedestrian Signs For Main Street Crosswalks

Agreed. East Hampton has them, but only after the fatal accident of Mr. Jiras, a well known local attorney. He was struck by a car crossing the road at a normal dinner hour right across from the theatre.

It shouldn't take an unfortunate incident to occur in raising awareness on safety. The world is a better place because of people like Dick Bruce.

The town should be reimbursing $ him for his thoughtfulness and consideration. " Dec 23, 14 8:39 PM

'Safe Room' Packages Developing For South Fork Clients

Safe rooms are a common thing in LA. It's a trending thing.

Masked marauders supposedly enter the house and ask everyone to cough up their bling. You run to the safe room and make dinner reservations after calling the PD.

Big waste of money is right. Some people trust in their possessions more than they do anything else in this world. Thankfully they're making our local economy go round.

Good on you Mr. Darlene for seeing an opportunity!! 100k for a room with locks on all doors and bullet proof glass. Now that's American ingenuity :) " Jan 5, 15 7:17 PM

East End Real Estate Agent Matthew Breitenbach Moves To Douglas Elliman

Historic Howell House In Bridgehampton May Be Demolished

The landmarks preservation committe in the Town needs more teeth.

In Sagaponack and Southampton Village you can't touch a historic house let alone mention wanting to tear it down.

Unfortunately all Sally Spqmdbuhrg can do is make recommendations. There is no legal back bone to her committe which would disallow the dismantling of historical homes. It's time for this to change.

Moving the house is a good concession. In North Haven they let people keep the historically registered homes towards the road while building their new ones deeper into the parcel.
